Have you ever had a HydraFacial? Well, let me tell you, it’s a game-changer! I recently had my first treatment at the newly opened Purely Natural Medical Spa in Brooklyn, and my skin is still thanking me for it.

Founded by double board-certified physician Dr. Cascya Charlot, Purely Natural Medical Spa recently opened a second location in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn to offer customers a wide range of rejuvenating beauty and wellness services, including microneedling, collagen stimulation, and laser hair removal.

For my first appointment with the spa, I decided to try a HydraFacial— a multi-step skin resurfacing treatment that promised to leave skin plump and glowing. Below, read about my experience, plus learn the many benefits of HydraFacials from Dr. Charlot.

My HydraFacial Experience

The spa itself was amazing. The staff knew it was my first HydraFacial, so they made sure I felt super comfortable throughout the 6-step process that combined the benefits of hydra-dermabrasion, chemical exfoliation, extractions, and hydration.

It only took about 60 minutes to complete, but it truly felt like a deep clean for my skin and pores. To my surprise, they were even able to remove a congested pimple that had been sitting on my chin for years. Talk about a win!

My face felt so refreshed after my appointment, and I had a noticeable glow.

What Is A HydraFacial?

According to Dr. Charlot, a HydraFacial is basically a multi-step skin process designed to rid the skin of impurities while providing it with much-needed hydration and rejuvenation. Think of a HydraFacial as the fancy, high-tech cousin of a regular facial.

Using Vortex technology, the process allows professionals to cleanse, extract impurities, and hydrate your skin all at once. (It’s basically like a little vacuum cleaner for your face, that’s gentle enough for sensitive skin.)

“It is a medical-grade facial treatment,” Dr. Charlot notes. “It is the only hydra-dermabrasion treatment that uses its patented Vortex technology to cleanse, extract, and hydrate. The hand piece suctions out impurities and delivers solutions into the skin simultaneously.”

What are the biggest benefits of HydraFacials?

A HydraFacial is a one-stop shop for healthy skin. Dr. Charlot explains that by infusing the skin with antioxidants and peptides the luxury spa treatment can not only help with acne, but it can also reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tones.

“A HydraFacial provides deep exfoliation, using topicals to kill acne-causing bacteria and remove excess debris that contributes to acne formation,” she shares about the benefits of HydraFacials. “It can also help with hyperpigmentation by removing dead skin cells and promoting the growth of new skin cells.”

The best part? You don’t have to wait weeks to see the results. Dr. Charlot says you’ll notice a difference right away.

How much does it cost to get a HydraFacial?

The cost of a HydraFacial can vary depending on your location and what’s included in the treatment, but Dr. Charlot says it typically falls between $200 and $400. While you’ll see immediate results, the expert notes it typically lasts for about 4-6 weeks.

My Final Thoughts

I definitely look forward to going back to Purely Natural Medical Spa and making HydraFacials a part of my self-care routine. (Dr. Charlot recommends getting a HydraFacial once a month.)

Personally, I loved that there was no downtime. Just make sure you come with your face free of makeup and be sure to pack your sunblock to protect your skin after your appointment.

For the best results, Dr. Charlot suggests avoiding products with active ingredients like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, ceramides, and retinol for 48 hours. She also advises avoiding excessive sweating and heat for 24 hours.
