For India Sage Williams, entrepreneurship was in her bloodline. Following in her family’s entrepreneurial footsteps ultimately inspired her to launch India Sage Media Agency (ISMA), a brand development and market research agency created to help companies and business leaders grow with intention.

“I was inspired by the entrepreneurial achievements my family made in my home country,” Williams shares with BrownStyle Magazine about her inspiration to leap into the business world. “The idea of financial independence and the ability to shape my own destiny also played a significant role.”

On the mission to leave a legacy for her family and future generations, the founder has successfully leveraged her media skills and expertise to make space in the multi-billion-dollar marketing industry.

Building A Legacy Brand

Before diving into entrepreneurship, Williams spent several years immersed in the media industry, where she cultivated her passion for storytelling and brand development.

“Recognizing the transformative potential of media and data, I set out on a path to help companies create compelling narratives and connect with their audiences on a deeper level,” she explains about the work she does with ISMA.

As a CEO, Williams believes in humanizing the entrepreneurial experience through behind-the-scenes videos, personal insights, and content that adds value to her audience.

Although pivoting to entrepreneurship hasn’t been an easy road, the founder prides herself in being transparent on social media about both her triumphs and challenges.

“By sharing my story, I hope to inspire others to embrace authenticity and resilience in pursuit of their goals,” she explains, adding being genuine with your audience can lead to genuine connections and support.

Finding Balance And Productivity In Self-Care

As a business owner and a mother of a young child, Williams understands the importance of work-life balance. To combat burnout, the entrepreneur prioritizes mindfulness. This ensures that she can find joy in every moment— from business meetings to playdates with her little one.

The busy mom is also an advocate for setting boundaries and saying “no” when necessary.

“By setting boundaries and allocating time for relaxation, I can bring my best self to my business endeavors,” Williams notes, adding work-life balance helps to improve her productivity. “To stay balanced, I prioritize time management tools, delegate tasks, and focus on activities that align with my goals. I also seek support from mentors, peers, and loved ones.”

What’s Next

Looking ahead, Williams plans on expanding her client base, exploring new markets, and diversifying her services to meet the evolving needs of clients.

“I also aspire to share my knowledge and insights with others through speaking engagements, workshops, and industry collaborations,” she adds.

Tweety Elitou is not new to the publishing world. Nurtured by parents who are authors and publishers, the Philadelphia native began her career as a fashion writer at the age of 13. As the former Sr. Lifestyle Editor of BET, Tweety was a key player in expanding the audience and reshaping the lifestyle vertical on the brand’s website. After working for notable media brands, the editor took some time off to enjoy the peace and pleasure of self-care and soft living. It was during this period that BrownStyle Magazine was created.
