With prices steadily rising, having a community to lean on is more important than ever. At BrownStyle Magazine, we celebrate charities and philanthropists who lead the charge in helping those in need. We were honored when Trudean Haye asked us to be the official media sponsor for ITAVFoundation’s Maternal Support and Education Day.

“We’re so excited and honored to have BrownStyle Magazine as our media sponsor for our Maternal Support And Education Day. Maternal wellness is so important within our community, especially in the immigrant community. I’m an immigrant myself, and just to provide support, education, community, and love is what It Takes A Village is all about. This is everything that we stand for,” Trudean Haye shared with us on the day of the event.

In late July, the MQ Factory- Ricky Codio Studio in Manayunk, PA buzzed with excitement and sisterhood as the ITAVFoundation hosted its annual event dedicated to supporting expectant and new parents– particularly those from teen, immigrant, LGBTQIA+, and Black and Brown maternal communities.

Thanks to donations and sponsors, the event was a success as expectant moms were greeted with a bustling atmosphere filled with engaging activities and valuable resources.

The attendees were filled with joy as they received thoughtful and essential gifts like free diapers, wipes, and postpartum care packages. Additionally, there was a baby clothing giveaway where families were able to fill a bag with adorable, gently-used garments.

(BrownStyle Magazine even gave away fab goodies bags filled with products and resources from Tubby Todd Bath Co., Adventureland Toy Emporium, and Bask & Lather to help moms keep self-care at the forefront of their minds.)

For those seeking relaxation, the event also featured free massages and manicures. Additionally, there were complimentary radiation-free breast screenings, prenatal yoga classes, and an educational panel discussing maternal health, wellness, lactation support, and postpartum advice.

During the panel conversation, experts shared their insights and experiences, empowering attendees with knowledge and resources to navigate their parenting journeys.

In closing, Maternal Support and Education Day 2024 felt like a big hug and exemplified the ITAV Foundation’s mission to create a supportive village for all.
