Who remembers purchasing their very first MAC lipstick? I do! It was Homecoming week during my sophomore year in high school and my Mom took me to MAC in Macy’s to pick up a few things I wanted for the event. That day, she bought me a few products— including my very first MAC lipstick in the shade of Angel.
As a young high school girl whose makeup obsession was just beginning, it was a special moment for me. I wore that lipstick almost every day during my sophomore year. To this day, it is still one of my favorite shades.
My Early MAC Obsession
It was then that my enthusiasm for collecting lipsticks had begun. Growing up, wearing MAC lipstick made you an “It Girl” and provided a simple yet effective conversation starter for blossoming friendships. I remember walking down the hallways and stopping each other to ask, “what lipstick is that?”
Over the next few years, I religiously took $16 (those were the good days) out of my allowance money to buy a new MAC lipstick. I couldn’t wait to show it off to my friends.

The Return Of MAC Nudes
I recently saw on the brand’s Instagram account that MAC brought back some of their OG lipstick shades. The caption of the post read, “No need to beg…the most iconic #MACNudes you’ve been trolling us for are finally BACK from the M·A·C Archives…for good this time”.
As I read the names of the shades they were bringing back, my heart dropped when I saw the return of one of my most loved and complimented shades ever, Peachstock.
Peachstock was a shade I had bought years ago and was using almost daily. Once they discontinued it, I used it less often because I had no idea when or if they were bringing it back. I ran to my vanity and tried it on for old times’ sake and boy did I forget how stunning this shade is!
My Favorite Lipstick Returns For Good
Anyone who knows me knows that a nude lip combo is always my go-to. Some of my favorite nude lipsticks from MAC include Honey Love, Angel, Feeling Myself, and Creme D’nude.
As a WOC, it can be hard to find a good nude lipstick because a lot of them on the market are either too pale or too orange (these shades can create the “concealer lips” look or the 2000s lip aesthetic where your lipstick is so light it almost appeared colorless.)
However, Peachstock is described as a warm-toned, light medium peach and in my opinion, is the perfect nude for WOC. I remember watching YouTube videos from beauty influencers like Jackie Aina and MakeupShayla who were always raving about Peachstock being one of their favorite nude lipsticks.
How I Wear Peachstock
As a Black woman, one of the most important things I’ve learned throughout my makeup journey is that any lip color will look good with the right lip liner. Below, read my step-by-step routine for achieving the perfect nude lip!

1) Prep The Lips
Moisturizing the lips before applying your lip combo will enhance the results. I like to use Palmer’s Swivel Stick to moisturize.
2) Apply Your Favorite Brown Lip Liner
I love to use brown lip liners because not only does it create definition around the lips, but it also softens the look of nude shades, especially on deeper skin tones. My favorites are Morphe’s Color Pencil in shades Trendsetter or Bite Me, NYX Professional Makeup Slim Lip Pencil in shade Brown, and MAC Lip Liner Pencil in the shade Cork.

3) Dab The Lipstick In The Center Of Your Lips
Use small tapping motions and blend with a brush or your finger. Less is more with nude lipstick, you don’t want your lips to look too pale (unless you do).
4) Apply Your Favorite Clear Gloss
This step is optional, but the gloss brings the look together by making it uniform. Plus, the shine just makes it pop!
Final Thoughts
My advice for WOC who have a hard time finding nude lipsticks that work for them is to focus on undertone. Look for warm undertones like peaches, deep browns, and pinks. A darker lip liner can make almost any lip color more flattering.
I definitely recommend picking up Peachstock while it’s still in stock! If you’re interested in trying this shade or have a nude at home you can’t seem to make work, try these simple steps to create the perfect nude lip combo.
