I attended the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show for the first time, and let me tell you it was nothing short of inspiring! This annual gathering, now in its 48th year, was a night filled with creativity and craftsmanship.
Held from November 15th to 17th at the Philadelphia Convention Center, the upscale show featured 195 talented craft artists from across the U.S. and 24 guest artists from Italy. Below, find out why you should add this event to your must-experience list for 2025!
The Preview Party Gala
The show started with the Preview Party Gala, an evening filled with mind-blowing art, delicious bites (including an ice cream bar), and meaningful conversations. As Sisi Elitou and I walked and explored the breathtaking booths, we admired each piece that caught our eyes.
It was refreshing that some artists were open to sharing the inspiration behind their pieces, which ranged from bespoke handmade jewelry to eye-catching handmade rugs. Below are some of our favorite creators/creations from the night!
Holly Anne Mitchell
Holly Anne Mitchell beautifully weaves paper into amazing pieces of jewelry. We especially loved her bracelets, which were made of real money!
Georgette Wright Sanders
We could not keep our eyes off Georgette Wright Sanders‘ pottery. It was inspirational to learn that her art celebrated the spirit of her ancestors. Her hands are truly blessed!
Danielle Gori Montanelli
Danielle Gori Montanelli‘s wearable art was colorful and told a story of youth and learning inclusivity. So much fun!
Yuliya Wolf
Yuliya Wolf‘s attention to detail was truly impressive! Each handmade leather bag was designed to be a masterpiece.
Alan Daigre
Alan Daigre‘s furniture told a story of old-school craftsmanship with a trendy edge. If you are looking to add pizazz to your home, look no further.
Liliana Olmos
Liliana Olmos‘ jewelry was breathtaking! We were in awe when she revealed that she doesn’t laser-cut each piece. She explained that she meticulously molds tiny pieces together to create designs you must see to believe.
Andrew J. Welton, PhD
Andrew J. Welton happily expressed his passion for creating historically inspired cooking knives, spatulas, and serving utensils that will spark a conversation.
Meg Little
Meg Little‘s beautiful one-of-a-kind, hand-tufted rug represented the mastery of her work. It’s just what you need to add a pop of color to your home!
Martha Collins
Martha Collins‘ passion is creating art from wood, and you can see it in every piece. From her baskets to her gorgeous jewelry, the one-of-a-kind art made from sustainable yield hardwoods and dyed veneer is something everyone needs to see.
Kathleen Gaffey
Kathleen Gaffey‘s careful handiwork results in unique hats that would make your grandma clutch her pearls in delight.
Ann Klem
Ann Klem‘s work was breathtaking! Her ability to make glass look like fabric is unmatched.
Supporting Artists: The Beauty Of Buying Handmade
At BrownStyle Magazine, we love celebrating makers and creatives who pour their souls into their work. One of the best parts of the Craft Show is that artists keep 100% of their proceeds, allowing them to continue honing their crafts.
