Playtime in the sun was something I cherished in my childhood. From playing in the yard with a ball to rollerblading and building a clubhouse, my siblings/friends and I always had a blast outdoors.
Who would have thought that in those little moments of childhood bliss, we were forming the cognitive and social abilities that help us navigate adulthood today?
As a mother in the digital era, I often search for learning activities and creative ways to get my son away from the TV, off the phone, and out of the house.
Just this Spring, my husband and I surprised him with a trampoline in hopes of boosting his physical activity while encouraging him to play outdoors and stretch his imagination. We were pleased to see him jump at least 30 minutes, 2-4 times a week.
Keeping The Momentum Of Outdoor Play With The Stomp Rocket
Recently, we had the opportunity to experience the Stomp Rocket—a STEM.org Authenticated™ toy used for teaching children about force, momentum, launch angles, and more.
Let me tell you, the Stomp Rocket is a game-changer when it comes to getting your children outside and playing for hours. Just seeing my son play outside with his best friend was awesome!
REVIEW: Using The Stomp Rocket For The First Time
When my son opened the Stomp Rocket, he could not contain his excitement. He immediately ran next door to his friend’s house so they could test the toy’s capabilities.
I was pleased that the pieces seemed sturdy, and assembly was as simple as 1,2,3. I will note that the Stomp Rocket has some small parts, so it is not advised for use by unattended children under the age of three. Ideally, it is better suited for children five and older.
So now, the fun part: there is only one way to use the lithium battery-free rocket—with 100% kid power!
This toy runs completely on “kids’ power” making it another win for me. I enjoyed watching my little guy have so much fun with his friend and their new toy. It was reminiscent of my youth.
Overall, my son gave the Stomp Rocket a 100/10. As a mom, it was a toy that I could appreciate for its ability to get my son excited to play with his friends and keep him moving in the great outdoors.
